Base

Get more. The Base model comes loaded with standard 17-inch all-Season Radials, Full-Size Spare with Steel Wheel, Roof Rack, Front and Rear Splash Guards, Coloured Bumpers, Rear Spoiler and Mirrors, and a Soft Tire Cover.

Sport

Look good, perform better. The Sport adds to the Base model with 18-inch Aluminum Alloy Wheels, Full-Size Spare with Alloy Wheel, Color-Keyed Fender Flares, Bumpers, Rear Spoiler, Mirrors and Door Handles, Privacy Glass, Smoke-Painted Headlamps, Fog Lamps, and Sport Badging.

Limited

Go all the way. The Limited includes virtually everything the Base and Sport have to offer, then carves its own personality with Limited Badging, Chrome Grille, and Molded Spare Tire Cover. Available Colour Keyed Fender Flares add to the personalized feel.

Long and lean, RAV4 offers generous amounts of Cargo Space - and plenty of Head, Leg and Shoulder Room for driver and passengers.

Driver Seat

The Front Driver Seat is designed with comfort in mind, including a fully cushioned Bucket Seat, high seat back and easy height adjustment. Limited models add 8-Way Power Adjust. Available Heated Driver's Seat in Limited and V6 models.

Second Row Seats

Second Row Seats sit three in comfort. They also split 60:40, slide, recline and fold flat to create a completely flat cargo deck. Remote Control Fold-Down, using the lever on the side of the rear deck, makes under floor storage as easy as flicking a wrist.

Third Row Seats

Available Split and Stow Third Row Seats [Base V6 package only] comfortably seat two additional passengers. Seats can also be stored flat under the floor to create additional cargo room as required.

New Standards

RAV4's array of standard interior features include: Optitron Gauges, Cruise Control, AM/FM/CD with Six Speakers, Mini-plug Jack and MP3/WMA Playback Capability, Remote Keyless Entry, 10 Bottle-Cup Holders [some of which illuminate at night], Power Windows, Power Door Locks, Three 12-Volt Auxiliary Power Outlets, and a Tilt and Telescopic Steering Wheel. Whew.

Limited Grade

The top-of-the-line Limited offers increased interior refinement including: Dual Zone Air Conditioning, Soft-touch Climate Control, Power Driver Seat, upgraded Audio System with In-Dash 6-Disc CD-Changer and available Leather-Trimmed Seats, Simulated Leather Door Trim, and Premium JBL Audio with 9 Speakers.

Engine

4-Cylinder Engine

RAV4's 2.4 Litre Four-Cylinder with VVT-i powertrain delivers 166 Horsepower and churns out 165 lb. ft. of Torque. More than enough for those with a thirst for the open road.

V6 Engine

Power. Pure and simple. RAV4's 3.5 Litre 24-Valve V6 generates a head-snapping 269 horsepower while going from zero to 100 km/h in 6.7 seconds. Equally impressive, equipped with advanced technology like Dual Variable Valve Timing with intelligence and Sequential Multiport Electronic Fuel Injection, RAV4 also delivers excellent fuel economy and an Ultra Low Emissions Rating.

Transmission

4-Cylinder models feature a Gated-Shift 4-Speed Automatic while V6 models sport a Gated-Shift 5-Speed Automatic. All models feature Super ECT [Electronically Controlled Transaxle] which automatically manages shift decisions based on engine speed and load for seamless shift performance and the significant reduction of gear-hunting on uphill and downhill grades.

VVT-I

4-Cylinder models are equipped with Variable Valve Timing with Intelligence [VVT-i] which continuously alters intake camshaft timing to create ideal intake valve control for any given engine condition - improving performance and reducing emissions.

V6 models feature Toyota's state of the art Dual Variable Valve Timing with Intelligence which utilizes an additional actuator on the exhaust camshaft to adjust exhaust valve timing - in addition to and independent of intake valve timing. The result? Even greater engine performance and lower emissions under varying engine speeds and loads.

Handling

Front Suspension

Front suspension utilizes finely tuned MacPherson struts to improve roll rigidity and linear steering feel.

Rear Suspension

The rear suspension is an exclusively designed trailing type double wishbone suspension; while the layout of the rear shock absorber makes room for a larger luggage area.

Vehicle Stability Control

All models feature VSC+, Toyota's improvement on standard Vehicle Stability Control. While most conventional Sport Utilities have Anti-Lock Brakes [ABS], Traction Control [TRAC], Vehicle Stability Control [VSC] and Electronic Power Steering [EPS] operating independently of each other, VSC+ integrates these functions. The result: smoother, crisper running, turning and stopping performance.

Active Torque 4-Wheel Drive

All models feature Active Torque 4-Wheel Drive with Manual 4-Wheel Lock Switch to ensure all-road capability no matter how wet or icy the conditions. An Electronically Controlled Coupling at the front and rear differentials controls torque between front and rear wheels. This enables RAV4 to switch continuously from Front Wheel Drive to 4-Wheel Drive depending on driving conditions - enhancing stability and improving fuel economy.

Hill-Start Assist / Downhill Assist Control

V6 models feature both Hill-Start Assist Control [HAC] and Downhill Assist Control [DAC]. Hill-Start Assist Control works to minimize back slippage when stopped on an uphill grade.

Downhill Assist Control helps to control the vehicle during steep descents. At speeds of 5-25 km/h, pressing the DAC button activates a series of sensors which monitor wheel speed and, in turn, automatically make any necessary adjustments. Neither HAC or DAC are a substitute for safe driving judgement and practices. Please see Owner's Manual for full details.

Safety

Brakes

Stop means stop. That's why all models feature Front Ventilated Disc Brakes and Rear Disc Brakes backed up by the advanced technology of standard Antilock Braking System [ABS], Power Assisted Electronic Brake Force Distribution [EBD] and Brake Assist [BA].

Control

Stay the course. All models feature Vehicle Stability Control [VSC+], Traction Control [TRAC] and Active Torque Control 4-Wheel Drive Systems to elevate control under adverse conditions.

Air Bags

Rest assured. Standard on all models: Dual Stage Driver and Passenger Airbags, as well as Driver and Front Passenger Front Seat-Mounted Side Airbags, and Second-Row Roll-Sensing Side Curtain Airbags.

Seat Belts

Hold your place. All seating positions feature 3-Point Lap and Shoulder Belts. Front Seats also boast Seatbelt Pre-Tensioners and Force Limiters.
